Every day when I tell to my friends that I am going vegan I get questions such as “Vegan? What does it mean? Can you eat grains? And about nuts and legumes? Agh, wait! No, can you eat CHOCOLATE?”.
Yes, I can eat all of these. And absolutely YES! I can eat Chocolate (if it’s dairy free of course), but that is actually the real chocolate. The one that Ancient Mayan were used to dink many many years ago (don’t forget this fact)!

However, the whole point is not about what I can or cannot eat. No body is telling me, you can eat this but you can’t eat that. It is my personal choice! I am planning to write about it and why I decided to become vegan very soon I promise. 

My point is that most people believe that being vegan means that you have to eat tasteless boring meals consisting of greens and veggies every day when certainly this is not the case. With the recipe I am about to share with you, I am aiming to prove that you can be a vegan and still indulge yourself with this fabulous Raw Vegan Chocolate which takes, literally no time to be prepared.

And if you think that it can’t be any better I am about to surprise you again, because this heavenly dessert is consisting only four ingredients. Yes, you’ve heard me! Only four! 

Vegan Raw Chocolate Beauty and the Nature

For the Raw Vegan Chocolate you are going to need:

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams dates (soaked for 10 min and pitted)
  • 50 grams cocoa oil 
  • 5 1/2 tbs raw unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 50 grams coconut milk from can (if you want thicker consistency be careful not to mix the cream with the water from the can, for a lighter consistency you can mix the cream with the water)

for the TOPPING you can use:

  • Strawberries (any other berries or fruits will work just fine)
  • Coconut flakes
  • Almonds
  • Hazelnuts
  • Raw cocoa nibs

Instructions:

Place all of the ingredients in blender. Melt the cocoa oil using a water bath and when it is ready pour it in the blender. Blend everything well together. When it’s ready pour the Raw Chocolate in a glass or bowl and top it with any of the toppings of your choice. You can also serve the chocolate, by layering it with fruits. I did to with one layer of strawberries and one layer of chocolate one after another. You can store the Raw Vegan Chocolate up to 3 - 4 days (if you are able to resist it for that long of course!).
