I had a hard time finding a proper name for this deliciousness made of apples, banana, celery... and not to forget the peanut butter, the dates and the wheat brand...ah! The main problem was that all of the ingredients are so lovely, that picking a name to cover all of them was not an easy task.

However I feel obligated to share with you the process of how I am making my smoothies in general. If you think that I spend many hours in calculating and thinking how to mix the right ingredients that for sure is not the case. The truth is that I always have a bunch of healthy goodies at home and whenever I want a smoothie I just mix everything together. And sometimes the result is delightful indulgence, sometimes is pure disaster.

So my point is in that particular day I had too much celery at home and as much as i love it (especially in salats with balsamic vinegar…yum!)due to its skin purifying and detox properties, there was no way that I could eat all of it before it went rot. So I did what I always do when I have too much veggies or fruits – JUICE them!

But the problem with the celery is that when you put it in a smoothie its taste is so strong that prevails over the others and honestly celery in smoothie doesn’t taste heavenly at all. So I made several experiments until I finally decode the crypt of how to actually enjoy the celery in your smoothies/juices… Peanut butter! Only one table spoon of it is enough to cover celery’s strong taste while you still get all the nutrition from it. Isn’t it just amazing? Oh Gosh, IT IS!!! If you have the same problem as I did I am sure that you will appreciate this recipe. Give it a try as soon as you can and let me know what do you think about it! 

Celery_Peanutbutter_Smoothie

And here is the recipe...

Ingredients:

  • 3 apples (roughly chopped)
  • 4 ribs celery (chopped)
  • 1 banana (chopped)
  • 2 tsp peanut butter
  • 1 ½ tbsp wheat bran
  • 1 small lemon (juiced) 
  • 4 dates pitted (soaked for 10 min in water)
  • 250 ml filtered water

Put everything in blender and blend, blend blend!
