Hey, Beauties! If you are crazy about makeup you probably already know about the hype around Artist oval makeup brushes. Lately Instagram exploded with videos and pictures of famous beauty gurus doing their makeup with these brushes. Naturally, I wanted to try them as well but I don't think that I am mentally prepared to spend 55$ on a makeup brush at the moment.
So you can imagine my excitement when I found out a dupe in the Wish App for less than 1 GBP. The brush came in the mail last week and if you follow me on Facebook you would know that I've tried it for the first time yesterday. Since I had a lot of requests about it I am going to share with you my first impressions.
The brush came wrapped in a plastic foil without any packaging. The black plastic handle is made of plastic and the head is made of fibre bristles. For me the synthetic bristles are extremely important first and foremost because they are cruelty-free and second because they are antibacterial. You should know that brushes made of animal hair often contain dead animal skin cells and bacterias which can spread on your face.Yaek! Anyway, back to our cruelty-free dupe. I love the fact that it is super soft and gentle on the skin. I haven't really expected much from this brush considering the price but I can say the quality is quite good. I suspect that the durability will be decent as well since I was trying to remove some of the fibers without any success.
I used the brush with my Arbonne Perfecting Liquid Foundation and it did apply it quite easily. However the final result wasn't something special, for example I get the same coverage with other brushes. On the other hand I was really impressed that the brush didn't soak any product. The bristles are so dense that the foundation is gliding on top of them rather than soak in the brush.
Over all I am really happy with this brush. I didn't have high expectations and taking the price into account you can't go wrong. As I said I love how soft it is and that it doesn't soak none of your foundation. Keep in mind that this is my first impression and I will experiment with different products. I have the feeling that this brush will be great for contouring and baking but I'll keep you updated. If you have any advices on how to use it, please share them with me! Would you give this brush a try?
